This afternoon, county dispatched the 22-01 box for smoke in a house which was upgraded to a house fire. Company 12 responded with Engines 1 & 3, Truck, and Squad. Arriving units found a two-story home that had been broken into multiple apartments. A room and contents fire was found in the second floor apartment. Truck 12 arrived and took side A and laddered the building. The vent crew was sent to the roof and established vertical ventilation. The Engine and Squad crews assisted with fire suppression and overhaul. Second alarm was requested by command to assist with the extensive overhaul as a result of hording conditions. The fire is currently under investigation.
